О "спортивных проектах".
27th-Aug-2008 10:57 am
a little bit retro style

Anonymous
Dear Sir,

I'm sorry to disturb you. I'm a french student and I prefer to stay anonymous for now because it is a public site. I have been trying to reach out to you for a long time now but every email that I try is a dead-end... I have a project that I would like to submit to you. I'm trying so hard to make it out of here. Could you please take a look at it? It would mean the world to me.

Hoping you can help me, I remain,

Yours faithfully.

Email: stevejob.fd@gmail.com

Dear Sir,

I've got an offer to make. I came up with an idea which I think is really great. I really hope that you'll find my invention worth the try like I do.

My idea is a new kind of bed. It's a really innovative bed, never proposed before and which has young people as principal commercial target.
I really don't want to say too much here but you can contact me to have all the details.

I'm sure that this invention could be a huge success. We could make billions out of it (estimation sales: 11 to 13 billion of euros). I really hope that you'll like it. I thought that you could buy my idea if you were ever interested, and make it a reality. I will be very happy to discuss it with you on the phone, or by email or by meeting you (to discuss the price).

So please, if you are interested by this idea, I would be more than happy to discuss it with you (it is more simple to contact me via e-mail). I really believe in the success of this idea and I hope that you will accept my offer because I want so bad to make it and this idea could allow me that. I try to make my way out of here, to start over, so please give me that chance, this idea is really worth it.

At least, thank you for having read this letter.

I look forward to your reply,

Yours faithfully.

PS: If it is possible to have an answer today, it would be more than perfect sir. I am sorry if I seem to have a lot of nerve (which is not the case!), it's just that I have been waiting for so long now that I can't wait any longer. So please, if you could just answer me today or tomorrow, I'll truly appreciate it (even more if it was a "yes" of course!). Thank you sir. Till then I'll keep the faith!

Hello Anonymous,
"...who is sitting in the glass house should not throw stones..?" Oh dear. I applaud your attempt at a quote by one of my favorite "wisemen of old" Ben Franklin, but I believe what you were trying to say was:
"Don’t throw stones at your neighbors if your own windows are glass." One of many very good quotes but one problem-I'm not the desperate guy writing a phishing letter trying to scam our host into believing that this so-called "bed" exists. It does not because if this great "invention" existed, this guy would not be trying to converse with a total stranger about it but instead make his own living with it. What gives this guy's plot away is not only his desperate tone but also the whole "I'm sure this invention will be a huge success..." paragraph. Read this again because these kinds of scams are commonplace in America now, especially over the internet. How do you know if this guy is telling the truth or not? As for "Mr. Phisher" another quote applies:
"Avarice and happiness never saw each other, how then should they become acquainted."
And here's two for you Anonymous because I think you're extra special :) :
"Be slow in choosing a friend, slower in changing." and
"He that blows the coals in quarrels that he has nothing to do with, has no right to complain if the sparks fly in his face."
Take care and enjoy your weekend :)

Best wishes,
Heather
P.S. If you're hungry for more quotes dear Anonymous, I'll be more than happy to provide them. I'll catch your act later-stay out of trouble ;)HMC

"People who live in glass houses should not throw stones" reminds us that we should be careful how we treat other people (with our words and actions) because we can all be easily hurt. People "throw stones" at other people to try to hurt them, and one way that people try to hurt other people is by saying bad things about them. If you lived in a "glass house" it would be very easy for other people to hurt you by throwing stones at you. "People who live in glass houses should not throw stones" means that we should not say insulting things to other people because they could easily do the same thing to us. Example: "Look at that shirt you are wearing! Did you buy that back in the '80s?!" Answer: "Hey, you're not so young yourself; people who live in glass houses should not throw stones!" Something made of glass can easily break; it is vulnerable; and we are all vulnerable in different ways. Sometimes we forget our own vulnerability and "throw stones" at other people in the form of criticism. A person might remind us that we too have our own faults and weakenesses by saying "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones". Example: "Look at what time it is... you are late again!" Answer: "Hey, how often are you not on time? People who live in glass houses should not throw stones."
30th-Aug-2008 05:37 pm (UTC) - Re: New invention to propose
Hello again Anonymous,
Point taken. But what if the person casting stones lived in a house of brick or concrete? :) You have to ask yourself this because yes, we all have weaknesses; but the bottom line is that some of us are hurt more easily than others, that simple. We don't all have the same vulnerabilities/degrees of vulnerability. This is why a smart person knows his/her weaknesses and either a)works to strengthen them or b)puts up a "brick wall" around them to keep them shielded from the folks they can't trust. This especially holds true for scammers (phishers)because if you don't know your weaknesses the scammer does and so scammer leads you into the scam hook, line, and sinker then laughs his way to the bank with your money. So if you live in a "glass house" then I agree 100% that you shouldn't be throwing stones to begin with, lest they hit someone else whose house is made of brick resulting in that person throwing a stone back to break the glass house. Gives new meaning to the old American saying: "' Don't dish out what you cannot take back.' " So if I hurt Mr. Invention's feelings, my apologies but if he's a glass house then he shouldn't have left himself so wide-open to criticism and "vulnerable" using such a desperate, phishing-scam-like post to begin with, especially being from France :)If I am wrong and he's actually telling the truth with a good invention, then I'll feel the guilt for any hurt I cause but so far his letter has proven to be nothing other than a scam. Good day and all my best,

Heather

Your a frenchman/woman promoting a bed idea?

An innovative idea targeted at younger people? My mind boggles at what this could be? :D tell me does it vibrate as well?

If you come from France, don't you know Mr P is awaiting an apology from your country for accusing him of allegedly pimping girls to his friends? and throwing him in jail?

hmmm me thinks you are foolish... or you have a lot of guts...

29th-Aug-2008 08:30 pm (UTC) - Re: New invention to propose
*LOL* Good one Rina :) Hmmm, smells like a scam to me...
30th-Aug-2008 12:00 pm (UTC) - Re: New invention to propose
yes it does look that way to me, but then the guy "could" be genuine...

however I think Mr P. has more important things on his plate, like inventing new and innovative ideas for solving the energy crisis, than inventing beds for younger people... hmm maybe the bed improves ones love life? ;D

and as Onexim has stated previously, Mr P will not be buying anything in france until the court case is sorted, so maybe our frenchman here may want to come back later...

Oh and it looks like your Mr A. is back on your heels again.

take care and have a good weekend...

R :)

Hey there Rina,
Perhaps Mr. Invention could be genuine. I did not say that he absolutely could not be, but from the looks of his letter and its tone, pretty much everything about it screams "scam".
I agree with you that our host leads a busy life with all he wants to accomplish regarding energy, but the world is also his oyster and so if he wanted he could help anyone he so desires. But yes I do agree with you that the chances of our host helping this young inventor are slim to none due to the reasons you (and Onexim) have stated.
As for Mr. A being back on my heels, this is a different guy-I think Mr. Invention himself acknowledging my scoff and telling me in so many words that I hurt his feelings. Well my apologies to him but there are worse things people can say about his letter and if he's that sensitive to the phrase "get a life" then I can't imagine what kind of emotions he would display if there are worse things said (which chances are high that there will be). Btw, just the invention itself sounds funny if it is even legit: an "innovative" bed?? Is it a shaking bed? Does it give all-over massages? Does it fold up for storage? You have to admit that the guy is really opening himself up to funny jokes if not skits.. :) I hope you're enjoying your weekend Rina. Take care and I'll talk to you later :)

Best,
Heather
